Katherine Berger May has been Lutheran A Cappella's accompanist since 1987 and has enjoyed working with the many different conductors through the years. She is a graduate of Concordia University, Wisconsin, and studied organ with Hugo Gehrke and John Behnke among others. Since 1985, she has held church music positions in Connecticut and in Fond du Lac and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Presently, Katherine is the church musician at Peace Lutheran Church in Sussex, Wisconsin, where she is the organist, children's choir director and coordinator of string and brass groups. She also maintains a piano studio. Katherine lives in Milwaukee with her husband and two daughters.
